![]() You will need to check the minimum system requirements for any software you use to be sure of compatibility with your hardware and version of OS X in use. If you use the proper version of Boot Camp then you could easily run Windows 8.x on your model. If you use Parallels, CrossOver, or Virtual Box there should be no problem running Windows 8.x.If you can "bottle" that app or if it has already been "bottled" then CrossOver is a good choice. CrossOver may be useful if you want to run one Windows application and avoid rebooting the computer each time. CrossOver has also adopted this into their product. Later someone managed to incorporate virtualization in Wine, thus making it more speed competitive. Unlike Parallels, Wine did not use software virtualization and was much slower than Parallels. For an application to work you had to create a "bottle" app with their "bottler." Called this because CrossOver is a derivative of a still extant Windows emulator called Wine. It worked wells with converted Windows applications. I have used an older version of CrossOver.
